Charlotte: Need fighwooks now.
Me: We need fireworks now?
Charlotte: Yesh.
We’ve always known Cooper is a handful. It started at a young age. I think this post was about the time we knew we were in for it. We are now outsmarted by a 2 yr old.
Hmmm….I need to get out of my room, but that darn baby gate is in the way. Maybe if I go over it? Well that might hurt my butt if I fall. What can make it softer? Clothes! Look at all the clothes in these drawers! I’ll just throw them over the gate and it will make a nice soft landing for me!
I want to go for a drive. I’ll be super quiet so mommy and daddy don’t hear me when I open the door. Hey look, mommy’s car door is unlocked! Here I go driving! I just need to get the garage door open. Oh, look, what does this button do? Wow, it opens the garage door! I have to show Charlotte and Scout! Hurry, come look! Let’s go out front and play!
I want some gum. I know mommy and daddy keep it up high. I just need to push the chair over and then I can reach. Okay the chair is here, but what shelf did they put it on? Oh, found it! Hurry, hurry, get down and RUN before mommy sees me!
Open, push down. Nope that didn’t work. What are these things anyhow? Why do mommy and daddy insist on keeping me out of the cupboards. Okay, let’s try again. Open, but not all the way. Okay now push down and pull the door open. Yay! It worked. Wow, look at all these goodies! The spray bottle! Now I can clean for mommy. I’ll just spray some on the dishwasher, and on the floor, and on the window. She love that I was helping. And trash bags, look at the trash bags! This will be perfect to put my soccer ball in!
We finally got to introduce Charlotte to her baby sister, Baby L. Although I would love to go into more detail about the situation, it’s personal and not my story to tell. She is loved very much and we hope everything works out in her best interest. We are excited that we will get to be a part of her life and that Charlotte will remain connected to at least one of her birth siblings. We are hoping to make contact with her older siblings, especially now that we are living in Colorado.
Here are my favorites, the rest are being uploaded on the share site under Charlotte’s birth sibling photos. I have to say 2 month olds are very difficult to ‘pose’ and take photos of!
And Charlotte was a little tired and cranky, so we let her play with a flashlight and attempted to get photos. This was the only one that really came out since I was still trying to get all my settings right and she kept moving (and Cooper kept trying to stand by Baby L’s head).

Conversation 2:
::Thump, thump, bang. Cooper jumps over his baby gate.::
Charlotte: Hep me! Hep me!
Cooper: Shhhh!
Conversation 3:
::We pull up to Starbucks, which is next door to Blockbuster. As I’m getting Charlotte out of her carseat, she sees the Toy Story poster.::
Charlotte: Toy Stoey! Watch Toy Stoey wit daddy aw day.
Me: Oh really? You watched Toy Story all day with daddy?
Charlotte: Yes.
We took the kids shopping this year to pick out their own costumes after the unsuccessful parents’ choices last year. Cooper seemed to love any costume that was green and was drawn to the dinosaurs and dragons. Charlotte wouldn’t even consider any costume and ran across the store when we asked if she liked the bee or butterfly.
At Old Navy I came across race car driver costumes and made a really big deal about it to Charlotte. Since Cars is her favorite movie right now, and she LOVES Handy Manny’s Big Race episode, she got super excited. Then of course Cooper had to have the same one. We tried them on tonight and realized Charlotte has grown a bit in the last few weeks so we had to go exchange her costume. They both wore their costumes to bed instead of pajamas. It looks like we found costumes on the first try!
