Video

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted any video of the kids.  These are hilarious!

Video 1:  Watching Finding Nemo, the part where Nemo’s little friend says ‘Look at me, I’m going to touch the butt!’

Video 2:  Singing to Oh My God by Usher

Video 3:  Dancing to Britney Spears (Glee version)

Going well!

It was another great day of potty training.  I am so impressed with how well Charlotte has taken to it.  She goes to the bathroom by herself without being reminded, or she asks someone to take her.  She goes even when she only has to fart or pee a little bit.  She had one tiny accident today, but stopped herself and went to the bathroom to finish.

Cooper is also doing well, once we introduced standing to pee.  He now stands on top of the toilet and pees every time we say ‘here it comes, here it comes!’.  It’s hilarious that he needs that prompt, but hey, it prevents the accidents!  He also had only one accident today and pooped in his pants.  I don’t think either one of them understand that part yet.

It’s still a process and they are in diapers for naps and overnight, but I’m pleased that we seem to be on track for no diapers!

Potty Training

We’ve begun a new stage with the kids and started potty training this weekend.  Cooper has been showing signs for awhile now, but Charlotte has seemed disinterested.  We waited just a few months after the big move, and also for when I have some time off work.

Yesterday was Day 1 and it was exhausting and frustrating for Chris and I.  I think Cooper had two successful pees in the toilet, while Charlotte went through 10+ panties.  She just didn’t seem to care (completely her attitude in a diaper too).  Cooper seemed very upset if he wet his pants and he asked for a diaper to poop.  We use a pail full of oxy clean and water to keep the underwear in, but I would rather change a diaper than clean up a mess.

Today is Day 2, and we’ve only had 3 accidents from Cooper!  He seems particularly stressed out about peeing his pants and doesn’t want to go on the toilet either.  He holds it and then pees a ton, then gets really upset.  Poor kid!  Charlotte has gone every time in the bathroom and hasn’t had one accident.  Yay!

I think it’s helped that we took advice from Mikael and Che and used a jelly bean as a reward for sitting on the potty.  They both LOVE getting a bean for trying to go potty and Charlotte tries as often as she can so she get lots of jelly beans.  So funny.

They both wear diapers to bed still and we plan to stay home as much as we can to avoid confusion.  We’re just giving it a go for a few days to see if they are ready.  If they show signs that it’s too much, I think we’ll back off a bit.

So far so good!

More Candy Too

Me:  Remember Halloween?

Charlotte:  Raish Taw Dwiveh

Me:  Yes you were a race car driver.  And we went Trick or Treating with Gigi and Grandpa?

Charlotte:  Moe tandy too!

Me:  Yes that’s right, you get more candy when you go trick or treating.  Cooper, do you remember trick or treating?

Cooper:  Moe cah-ee!

Me:  Yes, more candy.

Chrisi-sir

I love that Maile (see Faris Family blog) calls my husband Chrisi-sir.
