We just got new pots and pans, so we have the old ones sitting on the floor until we get around to giving them away. The kids have been banging on them as drums for a day or two and today I let them 'cook'. They love exploring and getting messy, so I gave them some dried oats and flour....really easy clean up with the vacuum afterward. Chris was very anxious the whole time--maybe one day he'll get used to the idea of them being messy with crafts! I had fun with them though!

You have some of the greatest ideas for crafts with easy clean-ups. Both my husband and I are more like Chris. We fear the mess. I'm trying to force myself out of it, but it's not easy. I'll have to give this one a try.
