Chatterbox

We had Charlotte's and Cooper's doctor appointment today.  Surprisingly we were only there for an hour and fifteen minutes, compared to the normal 2 hours!

Both babes are doing well!  Cooper has grown a ton and is a lot bigger than Charlotte.  I posted their stats on the right and the charts are below.

The pediatrician is concerned that Charlotte's language skills are not developing as much as they should be for her age.  She expects her to say many more words, and to say at least a few very clear words.  She is recommending we have her evaluated for speech, and if they deem she is behind then we will do speech therapy with her.  I'm happy that we will be able to give her any help she needs...the earlier the better!

She is a little chatter box though, even if she doesn't say many words yet.

Best of luck with the speech evaluation. We had to do physical therapy with Allison because she wasn't pulling up at 15 months. It was the best thing we ever did. They were WONDERFUL. I got to know some of the speech therapists there too because they treated a lot of kids that needed PT and other therapies. (After our initial physical eval, they said Allison had NO issues with speech, other than she doesn't stop talking! LOL!)

I would not worry too much. I have a 2 1/2 yr old in my daycare who only says a small handful of words. And when I was a preschool teacher (3 year olds) Normal was a broad broad spectrum. I had some who barely talked at all and some who spoke like 6 year olds. By Kindergarten most of them were close to being the same.

Oh by the way. HOLY COW COOPER IS HUGE!!! He is almost the size of my 3 year old. She was
30.5 lbs and 36 inches tall at her 3 year check in May. He is gonna be a basketball player or linebacker at this rate...LOL
