Resolutions

I didn't make any 2008 New Year's resolutions.  I'm not sure why.  I am usually very good at keeping them.  In years past, I have learned to make working out a habit, to have more patience, to stop biting my nails, to eat healthier, to maintain my friendships, be honest and tactful about my opinions/feelings, and the list goes on.

I am a goal oriented person and I don't accept anything less when it comes to achieving my goals.  Maybe I decided that having a baby would bring tremendous change and there wasn't a reason to stress myself out over a goal I made before that change.  Who knows?  This year....

I resolve to care about myself as much as I care about others and not feel guilty about it.  This will be very difficult for me, especially now that I have children.  By caring about myself I mean:  Make time for me either through pampering and/or hobbies, work out at least 3 times a week, eat healthy (but allow some indulgences), do my hair/makeup regularly, keep my wardrobe up-to-date, and be social (a critical part of being happy for me).

I also resolve to let go of control and not feel anxious about it.  I tend to like to control my situations and for once everything in my life has some element of being out of my personal control.  I think learning to let go will help be a better mother/wife/sister/daughter/friend/boss/employee/person.  I think the not feeling anxious will take some practice, but hopefully it will come in time.

We have officially separated the cribs.  Over the last several months we have made every effort possible to have the two babies sleep in one room.  It has led to frustration, disagreements, and less sleeping for everyone in the household.  It is too dangerous to co-sleep any longer, so it is coming to an end.  Now that Cooper is mobile, he wakes up in the middle of the night and does 'sleep crawling' (kind of like sleep walking).  I am very sad about it, but at the same time I am looking forward to sleeping on my stomach again (it has been over a year now since I couldn't do it during pregnancy either).

We moved our room around slightly and put Cooper's crib in our room.  Surprisingly everything fits really well, plus it gives the kids more room to play in their room.  We have Cooper in our room for two reasons:  Charlotte won't sleep with other people in the room, and Cooper still gets up to nurse at night.  The crazy kid reverse cycles  so that he can spend time with me and get his fill during the week (on the weekends he wakes fewer times at night since I'm home all day).  He eats only just enough from the bottle to not feel hungry.

Have any other mom's shopped at Crazy8 Clothing?  They have a ton of great deals!!  I just ordered some stuff and found a $10 off $30 coupon code at retailmenot.com.  So excited to see the quality and fit of the clothes!

I also shopped online at Victoria's Secret semi-annual sale.  I really love the fit of their clothes and they are the right mix of casual and work appropriate.  I got a ton of great deals and I loved everything I got!

(Can you tell I am loving online shopping lately??  I don't have time to go spend shopping, so this is super convenient for me!)

I need to get thank you cards out for Charlotte's birthday party and for Christmas...in the mean time, thank you again to everyone for being so thoughtful!!

Lastly, we got our picture back from the holiday party and we both hate it.  The photographer had us stand at a weird angle and it isn't flattering for either of us.  I also couldn't get the photo to scan without looking speckled.  So here is another photo from a friend's camera:
