Charlotte has learned to undress herself. We have to put her in footed sleepers that snap or zip because she knows how to take a shirt and pants off. It is very surprising to walk in and see your baby basically naked in the morning! I just feel bad that she probably froze all night. The worst part? Although she hasn't done it yet, she also knows how to remove her own diaper. Sounds like the worst. milestone. ever.
Charlotte had her developmental screening done today. This is something we're required to complete before the adoption is finalized. I worked from home while Chris took her to the appointment. Basically it was play time for her, but they were able to assess where she's at in relation to what is average.
Everything looks great! She is on target for her major and fine motor skills. Her eyes and ears are doing what they are supposed to--seeing and hearing just fine. She also had great social skills and seemed to melt everyone's heart. The only thing that came up was the possibility of emotional outbursts that are tougher than the average kid...which will probably peak around age 2-3. So the terrible twos are most likely going to be pretty terrible is what they told us. We're not going to expect anything and just deal with it as it comes up. No need to worry!
I forgot to mention our mini date night when Grandma J was in town! We went out for a couple hours after putting the kids down. We went to Bella Terra for some frozen yogurt and then a trip to Barnes and Noble. Not just any frozen yogurt...Pink Berry! If you have not had the amazing Pink Berry, you MUST have it. The frozen yogurt is AMAZING and I love the fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Chris had never had it and he swapped the raspberries for blackberries. Next time I might get adventurous and try Cap 'n Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, Chocolate Chips, or coconut. SO. GOOD.
Of course I bought two more books (Blink and The Thirteenth Tale) while I was at Barnes and Noble. I'm obsessed with books. I have to buy them. I refuse to go to the library because I hate giving my books back. Weird compulsion of mine. Two more books that add to the other 8 I already have on my shelf to read. I'm reading The Red Scarf now and it is poorly written and painfully slow. I don't ever do this, but I read the last 5 pages to see if it is worth finishing. It's not. I'm pretty sure I'm going to stop wasting my time and pick something else up out of my 10 books I still need to read.
I have a crazy number of videos to upload...I'll work on it.
