Visit with Grandma J

Grandma Jacqueline came to town!  This is the first time in the 6.5 years we've lived here that she has come to visit so it was great to finally show her a little of California.  It's too bad we are cramped in the apartment and she had to sleep on our couch!  However, she didn't seem to mind because she got tons of time with the grand babies!

They were napping when she first got here, and she was super anxious for them to wake up.  They finally did and after about an hour of them sort of staring at her, they warmed right up to her!  By the end of the weekend they kept going up to her for hugs and kisses.  It was adorable.  We are so glad that the stranger danger is subsiding a little and that they can bond with the grandparents.  It's tough being so far away and them not seeing family for long stretches of time.

We did a lot of fun stuff and took Grandma out to eat for her birthday.  The next day we went to the beach and then on Saturday we went to lunch and then to the park.  On Sunday we just stayed in and Grandma went to the airport a little early.  It was a good visit and we got a lot of great pictures.  Here are a few.  I will upload the others to the Shutterfly sites soon.

This is the second day before we went to the beach.  They were both a little tired after waking up from their nap.

This is the only picture we got of Charlotte alone.  Our camera is messed up now from the sand (the Sony Cybershot) so we have to take it in to have it fixed.  Charlotte kept putting sand in our purses.

I absolutely LOVE the first picture of Grandma in the chair with the kids. It's adorable. I also really like the one where she's laying in the grass behind Charlotte's big smile from pushing the cart thing. I have really enjoyed watching Lorielle bond with the grandparents, so I understand what you're saying about being relieved that they warmed up to her so quickly.
