From the resident stay at home dad:
Cashier: Oh are they twins?
Chris: No, they’re 4 months apart.
Cashier: [Confused look on his face.] Is that even possible?
Chris: Yes.
Cashier: [Really confused and surprised look on his face.] Hm, em, okay.
Chris: [Waits a few minutes attempting not to burst out laughing.] One is bio and one was adopted.
Cashier: [Relieved look on his face.] Oh, okay.

Hehehhe... I actually seem to remember hearing a story about someone who got pregnant a second time DURING her pregnancy. It didn't take. She miscarried the second baby but was still pregnant with the first. Creepy. Regardless, I bet it's both entertaining and annoying to have these types of conversations all the time.
