Summer 2015

We saw Mad Max Fury Road in May.  I absolutely loved it.  It might become one of my favorite movies, ever.

Chris and I bought some concert tickets from a coworker to see Big Head Todd in early June.  It was a rainy night, but still fun to get out.

We had a busy late June.  I went and saw Malala Yousafzai speak with a couple of girlfriends.  To be completely honest, we were all underwhelmed.  A couple days later, Chris and I we went to Boulder to eat at Brasserie Ten Ten and then see our friend perform Iago at the Shakespeare festival in Othello.  It was a fantastic dinner and great theater.  Our favorite kind of date night.  Also in late June, we took the kids to see Inside Out at the movie theater and they loved it.  We all loved it, actually.

July was a busy month too.  We went on vacation. I had jury duty, but didn’t get picked.  We had a date night and ate sushi.  We went to Cherry Creek Reservoir and jet skiid with our friends.  It was so fun and the kids absolutely loved it!  We saw our friend perform improv.  I had a girls’ night out and saw Magic Mike XXL

I hung out with some old friends from high school in late July.  I love seeing how we have all grown up.

August was a fun month.  I took the kids swimming at the local pool and also to meet up with a college friend and her daughter at Pirate’s Cove.  The kids loved the water park.  We also went bowling.

For our 12th Year Wedding Anniversary, we went up to Vail for a weekend away.  The Dance Festival was taking place, and Misty Copeland was performing, so Chris planned a fantastic weekend away.

We have met a lot of great people this year.  Two of our favorite new friends got married and we were honored to be invited to their wedding.  Our friends are both talented actors (one is also a director and both are also teachers) and nearly the entire guest list were also actors.  It made for an evening full of great conversation with fun, new people.  We smiled, we laughed, we danced.  We genuinely enjoyed the night out.  It was a beautiful evening, and the wedding had an easy casual vibe, plus the farm venue was just perfect.  We ate food from the Steuben’s food truck, laughed at the farm animals.  It was the best kind of wedding and we are so, so happy for our new friends.  (I didn’t pull out my phone hardly at all.  I really wanted to just enjoy being at the wedding.  I’m sure there are more photos of us floating around somewhere because I remember posing in front of cameras frequently.)

Their photographer, Zachary Andrews, was seriously amazing.  I could look at his work all day long. This is his photo I believe (I just happened to be tagged in on FB).  11885724_10155940543225517_8770561750314960938_o11988764_10208252247807453_5897351950648518134_n

This might also be Zachary Andrews work.  You can see some of their wedding photos on his website.  Jessica is in the green wedding dress.
