Birthday Party Fun

We had a fun day today.  Both babies slept in a little and were in a great mood when they woke up.  We all snuck in to say Happy Birthday to Charlotte this morning.  She greeted us with her usual morning smile.  She started out the day in a pretty white dress.

We made yogurt for breakfast, since that is her favorite.  However, today, she decided she hated the yogurt so we quickly switched it out for bananas.  They played for awhile and then Cooper went down for the morning nap and Charlotte wanted to continue to stay up.  She finally went down after an hour of playing, just in time for Cooper to wake up.

We got the house all decorated and the food prepared for the party (hot dogs and hamburgers.)  Charlotte got up from her nap just in time for her party.  We changed her clothes to a purple romper since her dress was dirty from breakfast and crawling all over.  Caren, Richard and Cecily came over. 

Everyone had lunch and then we served the cake.  She had a cake all her own so she could really dig in.

 

We put a hat on and she wasn't so sure about it.  We should have put it on before she dipped her fingers in the frosting.

   

Charlotte continued to enjoy her cake while Cooper checked out his hat.

The cake was so good Cooper tried to eat the plate.

We had to take them in the bathroom and spray them off!  We changed her into yet another outfit before opening presents.  Cecily helped open the presents.

Charlotte took another short nap (no doubt the sugar was a culprit) and Cooper took a very long nap (obviously birthday parties are exhausting).  Both kids were cranky for dinner, and then they played in their room for awhile before it was bath time and bedtime.

We have video...but it will have to wait!  I'll make Chris work fast and furious to edit the birthday cake and opening presents together so everyone can experience Charlotte's first birthday!
