I’m going through another stage of lack of motivation to blog. I’m just feeling a bit like my privacy is invaded. No particular reason. I just get the sense that a lot of strangers are reading my family blog, so I need to be a little careful about what I post, which then makes me feel a bit censored. When I get that feeling, I just don’t feel up for blogging.
At any rate, I am really, really behind on our updates, although I hope most everyone is keeping up with us on the photoblog. First thing….Chris finished the bed!! It is gorgeous and I am so impressed at how quickly he finished and how amazing it looks. He had a lot of fun doing it and it really gave him a sense of accomplishment. Next I’m hoping that he’ll build a sofa table with more storage or a picnic table for the kids.
Chris got an electric guitar to complement his acoustic (it’s an early birthday present). Since I’ve gotten into photography as my hobby, he’s starting to really get into guitar. He sounds great!
Mikael, Che and Maile came to visit about 2 weeks ago. It was so wonderful to see them and just relax. Chris and I got sick and both lost our voices. Let me tell you how fun it is to scold two toddlers with laryngitis! Unfortunately I hardly took any photos at all, but I’ll let you know when Mikael and Che get their photos up from the trip.
I turned 30 yesterday!! It was such a great birthday! I usually don’t do any celebrating, other than maybe going out for dinner, but this year I thought I should make an exception. I had to work, but kept it low key. I took a long lunch and got a pedicure with the girls. Then I left a little early to make it home to celebrate with the kids and Chris.
We ordered takeout from my favorite Italian restaurant, Roman Cucina’s. Usually I love to go to the restaurant because all the waiters are male and super hot (Chris indulges me). But with it being a holiday weekend and a Friday, we decided takout was a better idea. After delicious food, I blew out some candles on my cupcakes.
Then my coworker’s teenaged daughter babysat (really just sat at the house with the dog because the kids were already sleeping), while we went to a local bar for some drinks with all my friends. It was so great to get out and I’m so glad we found a babysitter so I could celebrate my birthday with my husband. Caren who is always fantastic at bringing her camera got some great pictures.
Cooper’s birthday party is coming up and we are excited that Grandma Jacqueline will be here for the weekend to help us celebrate. (She was already planning to make a visit that weekend and I figured I would go ahead and plan his birthday party while she was here…we miss having family at these types of things.)
I still need to update about Charlotte’s progress (and Cooper’s too). Then tell a funny story about ‘white noise’ while Cooper is sleeping. Another time though!
