Clipping his toenails

Some background info:

We are going to have a garage sale in about a week and have piles of stuff everywhere.

Cooper is obsessed with clipping his toenails.  This means we are constant wrangling toe nail clippers and scissors (yes scissors!) away from him to prevent him from cutting off his toe.

Okay onto the story:

A couple weeks ago I was out in the front yard planting some flowers while the kids were playing in our cars and riding their bikes up and down the sidewalk.  I see Cooper sitting on the grass not far from me and the next thing I hear is him screaming and crying (you know that ‘mommy, I am in serious pain and if you don’t move quick I might just die’ kind of scream?).  He is holding is toe and next to him are these:

Yep, he tried to clip his toe nails using GARDENING SHEARS!  It was the old pair sitting in the pile of stuff to be sold (the new pair is hung high where he can’t reach).  He luckily only cut off the soft skin at the tip of his toe instead of his entire big toe, but he was bleeding everywhere.  Very scary.  I am glad he is okay and I am pretty sure this might deter him from trying to clip his toe nails anymore.  Well at least with gardening shears anyhow.
