Awww Shi--!

We forget that the kids are in mimic mode these days, especially when it comes to sounds and language.  Charlotte has been walking around for a week or so muttering , "Aww shhhi" (without the 't').  At first I ignored thinking she was just learning new sounds.

Then when she was sitting at the table eating cheerios and several of her cheerios fell on the floor, she says loudly, "Awww shhhhi" (again without the 't').  Both Chris and I look at each other and really try not to burst out laughing.  We ask each other, 'Did she really just say what I think she just said?!?'

We also asked ourselves who has had the potty mouth, because she certainly didn't learn that from Handy Manny.  I mean she waves when we say 'Adios!', but I know they don't say anything close to 'Awww, sh--!' on that very kid friendly show!

So Chris and I monitored our own conversations over the weekend and wouldn't you know...Chris says 'Aww, shhhhi' (without the t) very quietly when he drops something or makes a mistake.

Charlotte doesn't regularly say mama yet, but she says 'Aww, sh--!'.  Do you think this counts as her first sentence?
