I met with a friend, Kirsten, and her daughter Reagan, who is only a couple days younger than Cooper. She has a similar adoption story and we met online, so it's really great to get together. We went to the Santa Ana Zoo again since it's so small and a great price -- only $4 for me and free for the kids!
The last time we went to the zoo the kids were obsessed with the fences and barely noticed the animals. This time was a whole different story and I think they really had fun!
Me: Oh look at the llama!
Cooper: Agh, agh! Daw? Towwwt! (Woof! Woof! Dog? Scout!, with a long drawn out owww in the middle)
Reagan: Woof! Woof!
Kirsten: That's a funny looking dog!
Me: Oh the monkey is so cute. Look he doesn't have any hair.
Kirsten: The sign says that both him and the zoo keeper are suffering from alopecia. They're going bald!
Cooper: Oo, oo! Agh, Agh! Daw! Towt!
Charlotte: Daw! Agh, Agh!
Me: A pig named Charlotte! She's going to be 20 on Oct 15th! Let's sign her birthday card.
Cooper: ::Wanders off to get the broom to sweep the barn floor::
Charlotte: ::Just wanders off out of the barn.::
Me: Turkeys go gobble, gobble!
Cooper: Agh, Agh! Daw! Towwwt!
::Me and Kirsten chatting away watching the kids go up, and down, up and down the ramp on the stage::
Reagan: Woof, Woof! Woof, Woof!
Kirsten: No honey there's no animals over there, just the train tracks. Train tracks don't go woof, woof.
Reagan: Woof, Woof! Woof, Woof!
Kirsten: Will you look at that, there's a dog STATUE!! Yes, the dog goes woof, woof!
And so on, with the goats, small felines, bald eagles, ducks, and all the other animals!
Just in case you didn't learn anything from the zoo: monkeys go woof! And so do pigs, ducks, llamas, turkeys, goats, bald eagles, and dog statues.
