Day 4–Snoqualmie Falls

We woke up that morning and Cooper decided he wanted to have pizza.  So with lunch chosen, we decided to be really low key and venture out to Snoqualmie Falls, which was about a 45 minute drive out of town.  We stopped at Flying Pie Pizzeria on the way out there, per Cooper’s request and we enjoyed the little ‘hole in the wall’ type of place.  The pizza slices were HUGE, but tasted good.  Charlotte and Cooper loved playing all the arcade games.

We wandered up to the falls to get some pictures of the falls while we waited for my family to show up.

My sister-in-law, niece and nephew met us out there.  Cooper and Charlotte kept talking about seeing their ‘cuh-ins’ and the kids bonded super quick.

I love the high fives they kept doing with each other.DSC_5122_edit_wmDSC_5124_edit_wm

We went to the gift store to buy little trinkets and then finally drove back to the hotel.  We lounged around for a few hours while Chris went to the urgent care.  His throat was really swollen and it was painful to swallow and eat.  They didn’t do much for him other than tell him he might have had strep, but it was probably gone (or he didn’t have it) and to take some ibuprofen.  He started feeling better after his visit (and found out a few days later that he did have strep but if he was feeling better he didn’t need to take antibiotics).

We met my brother, sister-in-law and the ‘cuh-ins’ for dinner at Anthony’s Bell Street diner downtown.  The kids were worried about their ‘cuh-ins’ because they were running a little late due to traffic.  The wait for the table was really long, and we chose to eat in the diner downstairs vs. the restaurant upstairs because it seemed more casual (read ‘kid-friendly’) and the wait was shorter.  We were seated after waiting for about 35 min.

Then the first thing our waiter said was ‘I’m really busy tonight, so if I don’t pay attention to you, that’s why.’  Basically he wanted the same tip for ignoring us.  Um, no.  We thought the food was okay.  I was expecting more out of my salmon fish and chips and Chris thought his salmon pot pie was going to be more like a traditional pot pie rather than like a creamy salmon vegetable soup.  The strawberry shortcake was fantastic.  We had a great time catching up with my brother and sister-in-law and the kids were kept entertained by their cousins.  I need to borrow other people’s older children more often!

We got back late so the kids didn’t go down until 9:30.  For some reason we were all very tired—maybe the lack of sunshine??

Weather:  overcast and drizzle pretty much all day
