What's happening with the baby:
The baby is 8.4 inches from crown to rump and weights 1.2 pounds. He's starting to produce white blood cells, mostly for combating disease and infection. He may start to respond to touch and sounds. Hiccups may be felt soon, like a jerking motion.
We had another doctor appointment last Thursday. My belly is measuring at 24.5 inches. It should measure an inch for every week, and I was only 23.5 weeks. So far it looks like Cooper could arrive a little early, since he even measured big at the ultrasound. I have to go in for my 1 hour glucose screening, which is the initial test for gestational diabetes. His heartbeat was loud and clear, at 133-135 bpm. We got a bunch of free stuff...I can't believe he'll be so tiny to fit those diapers! Everything else is looking great!
Cooper is moving a lot these days. He still has his cycles of quiet and then times where he moves a ton, but his kicks are really strong now. My belly moves quite a bit and it so strange to feel movement on both sides (I guess he's big enough now). He's also able to reach my ribs. I'm very ticklish on my sides, so I laugh a lot when he kicks me there!
The other night he was making my belly jump. It started out at slightly regular intervals, but then became more sporadic. Hiccups maybe? I think he was playing jump rope with the umbilical cord, or maybe leapfrog with an imaginary friend. Whatever it was, I got sooo motion sick from it! It was awful. I had to get up and keep walking around to avoid the motion sickness. I hope it wasn't hiccups because I don't want to get motion sick every time he has them!
I cannot stop cleaning!! I think I make more of a mess than I actually clean, but I seriously can't stop!
Belly pics have been updated.
