I sometimes wonder if the human race is the most broken species that can exist. Humans are selfish and mean and horrible. To each other, to planet Earth. I just sometimes feel like giving up on any hope that we are capable of redeeming ourselves. This probably means I need to take a break from politics and news.
The two things that I am most outraged and heartbroken about in the last week:
That a young woman can be gang raped by 7 men and a beer bottle, and a the school administration does nothing. Her friends do nothing. And, she isn’t the only one, that it has been an ongoing issue for decades.
That our justice system has failed to provide justice to black boys murdered in cold blood for nothing other than being black. I don’t know what to say to mothers and fathers of black boys other than, I BELIEVE YOUR CHILD’S LIFE IS AS IMPORTANT AS MY CHILD’S LIFE.
