Some of My Favorite Things

I love this ice cream so much.  Blackberry anything, really.

I love several different types of accessories, with watches, belts, and scarves being my favorites.  My latest scarf from Gap…so soft!

My favorite lip gloss is YSL Gloss Volupte in Fouchsia Oran.  This gloss lasts through breakfast, coffee, water, and morning snack.  It leaves a nice stain on my lips and hydrates them, rather than leaving them sticky.  The smell and flavor are a cross between melon and pineapple.  You can buy YSL at Sephora or most high end department stores, like Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus.  I only own a couple of them because I think $32 is crazy to spend on lip gloss that I will likely lose.

I love all things at Lush, but my favorite body lotion is actually a body conditioner from Lush.  You rub it on in the shower after washing, and then rinse it off, similar to conditioner for your hair.  I don’t have to apply lotion, but it leaves my skin soft and hydrated.  Plus it smells like roses.

My Kindle is almost as necessary as my phone and I feel naked if I don’t have it with me.  I really, really love reading serialized fiction.  Sean Platt and David Wright are great authors to start with because their writing is pretty good, the stories are interesting, the characters are strong.  Serialized fiction is similar to TV shows, and used to be how quite a bit of fiction was released.  You get new episodes every week or so and then a new season every 6 weeks.  Each season is only about $6.  I’ve read quite a few – Yesterday’s Gone, White Space, Available Darkness.  I’m currently reading Z 2135, book two of Z 2134, which is just a book series (think 1984 + Hunger Games + zombies), but still fantastic.

My favorite author is Octavia Butler because her science fiction is thought provoking and covers topics such as race and sex.  It is rare to have a black female write science fiction and her perspective is refreshing.  The dystopian Parable series is probably my favorite, but I also love the Xenogenesis and the Seed to Harvest Patternist series.

My favorite Pandora station is Classical Music for Studying.

My favorite chocolate that cures my sweet tooth:

My favorite movies are Chocolat, Under the Tuscan Sun, and Almost Famous.  Cliffhanger is runner up because I love the opening scene, as well as 5th Element because it is visually stunning.  To be honest, I don’t watch much TV, including movies.

My favorite snacks include Kind bars (Almond Coconut or Maple Pumpkin Seed), Little Cuties, Pineapple Chobani yogurt, and an avocado with lime/salt/pepper on it.
