Family Photo Storytelling Session

It has been a few years since we’ve had family photos taken.  I don’t mind having the posed, formal portraits done, but I can do those myself with a tripod (see holiday card photo from last year).  I came across a photographer who does travel sessions and has a unique artistic view point.  Her ability to capture personalities is superb and the use of film over digital gives her photos an almost ethereal feel to them.

I asked her to come to Denver for a family session for us.  I gave her several options for what we typically do as a family, and taking the train downtown to have frozen yogurt inspired her the most.  I was so excited because it meant that we would capture so many of the elements of us as a family.  Charlotte LOVES trains.  I ride the train to/from work every day.  We have frozen yogurt as a family every weekend.  Chris and I go to downtown often for date nights.  Cooper is enamored with the city.

Look how amazing they turned out!  She captured us as a family so well and under some of the most challenging circumstances – mid-day light, lots and lots of people around, traffic/buses/businesses.  I can’t wait to blow these up and put them on our wall to make a gallery of sorts.
