You’ve probably seen the FB meme, and I haven’t been sucked in on Facebook. However, my plan to edit some photos was foiled by my computer having a mind of it’s own, so I’m posting some things about me that you may not know, but will now.
1. I refuse to eat the candy, Swedish Fish. Because they are named fish and I think they might possibly taste like fish. And I’m not eating candy that tastes like fish. Chris likes to buy me a package of Swedish Fish as a joke for my birthday, especially because it’s one of his favorite candies.
2. I once walked into a closed sliding glass door with a huge fountain Coke in my hand. It hit the glass before I did and I was covered in Coke. The funniest part was that I was sincerely stunned that the door was closed, when in reality we were coming home from dinner and the door was closed and locked.
3. I wrote a scene for a play when I was 12 which was performed at the Boettcher Concert Hall. I took my dad to see the performance on his birthday.
4. The Denver Post wrote an article on me when I was 18. That’s how I landed my first internship – a VP at an oil company read about me in the Sunday newspaper:
5. For an elective in college, I took a drawing class. Remember, I attended an engineering school. Turns out, I wasn’t too bad of an artist:
6. I am terrified of the biscuit can popping (you know where you tear the cardboard/paper and the can of biscuits or croissants POP open). I won’t open them or be near them when someone else opens them.
7. I love scary movies because I like the adrenaline rush of being scared. Now #6 seems absurd, right?
8. I once fell down three times in one night. Out in public. While walking to the restaurant, then in the restaurant, then to the car. Sober. Apparently ballet dancers are clumsy people. And here I thought ballet would help me more graceful. Turns out it just helps me look more graceful when I fall.
9. I am a voracious reader. I read everything – magazines, newspapers, cereal boxes, online news, books. I’ve read over 50 books so far this year, which is quite amazing because I only read 60-90 minutes a day on books. My favorite author is Octavia Butler.
10. I come from a HUGE family. I have six siblings, three older and three younger. My mom was one of eight children, my dad was one of six. I have so many cousins I have never counted them. We also stay in contact with second, third, fourth cousins.
